Volunteer
Volunteering Opportunities
There are many different ways you can volunteer with Hitchin Scouts. Many of the roles available are flexible, so if you don't want to commit to every week, we can find a role that suits your needs. Every role in Scouting requires no prior knowledge of Scouting or Guiding, there is a comprehensive, modular training scheme tailored to each role and plenty of support from other volunteers. Everyone that volunteers has the satisfaction of knowing you are helping to provide more adventures to young people!
Leadership
The leadership team is in charge of running a section (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts or Explorers). This includes things like planning the activities that will be run, running games and activities and keeping records up to date.
Management and Support
The management and support roles help the various leadership teams deliver an exciting and adventurous programme. There are opportunities at both Group and District levels to manage teams of people or to help with some of the 'behind the scenes' tasks to ensure the young people get the best possible experience.
Active Support
The Active Support section is for adults to support Scouting in many different ways. Do you have a skill to offer or unable to commit to regularly? Active Support is a flexible way for adults to volunteer.
